Welcome! I’m Jennie Hardy (RGN, DipPSN), a Registered General Nurse with nearly 20 years of clinical experience in the NHS and specialist training from the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS).
At Acupuncture by Nurse Jennie, I combine rigorous medical assessment skills with evidence-based acupuncture treatments to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, or seeking dedicated support for women’s health, my practice provides high-standard clinical care in a welcoming and professional environment.
My Clinical Experience and Background
I qualified as a Registered Nurse from The University of Manchester in 2009. Over the past 17+ years, I have built a robust clinical foundation across a wide range of NHS acute and specialist surgical disciplines, including:
Surgical & Acute Care: Gynaecological surgery, general surgery, urology, cardiothoracic surgery, and medical/surgical assessment.
Specialist Rehabilitation: Post-operative recovery and rehabilitation support for elective orthopaedic patients.
Elderly & Complex Care: Elderly medicine, palliative care, and chronic illness management.
Alongside my private practice in Skipton, I continue to serve in the NHS. In this role, I perform advanced clinical triage and support patients with complex health needs, chronic respiratory conditions, and post-surgical recovery across the region.

Women's Health and Medical Acupuncture
Throughout my nursing career, I have developed a strong passion for women’s health. My background in gynaecological surgical care gives me a deep understanding of the unique physiological and emotional health challenges women face throughout different stages of life.
To complement my medical background, I completed post-registration training with the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS). Medical acupuncture (also known as Western medical acupuncture) is a clinically proven, evidence-based modality adapted from traditional acupuncture using modern medical, anatomical, and physiological concepts.
By integrating Western clinical assessment with BMAS-accredited acupuncture, I help clients manage:
Musculoskeletal Pain & Joint Health: Back pain, neck pain, joint stiffness, and recovery after orthopaedic procedures.
Women’s Health & Hormonal Wellbeing: Menstrual discomfort, peri-menopausal/menopausal symptoms, and stress-related conditions.
Chronic Health Conditions: Headaches, stress relief, and holistic physical wellbeing.

My Clinical Approach to Care
Your safety, comfort, and clinical outcomes are my highest priorities. True healthcare goes beyond addressing isolated symptoms, it requires a thorough understanding of your complete medical history and personal needs.
When you book a treatment with me, you benefit from:
A Comprehensive Medical Assessment
As a Registered Nurse, I evaluate your symptoms against your full medical history to ensure acupuncture is safe, appropriate, and tailored to you.
Evidence-based Practice
Treatments are based on modern clinical standards and guidelines established by the BMAS.
Collaborative Person-Centred Care
I work alongside your existing NHS or private medical care to ensure seamless continuity and support.
Professional Registration and Qualifications
To maintain the highest standards of safety, ethics, and patient care, I maintain active professional registration and membership with leading UK regulatory bodies:
Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC): Registered General Nurse (RGN) | PIN: 09F0281E
Life Beyond the Clinic
Outside of my clinical practice and NHS work, I am a proud mum of two wonderful children and married to my husband, Chris. Living and working in Skipton, our family loves making the most of the stunning North Yorkshire countryside.
In my spare time, you will usually find us out walking and exploring the local trails, hills, and paths around the Craven region - almost always accompanied by our energetic Cocker Spaniel, Blue. Having deep roots in the local community keeps me grounded, connected, and passionate about supporting the health and well-being of the people who live and work here in Skipton and the surrounding Yorkshire Dales.
